Installing XAMPP on Linux (Ubuntu)

XAMPP is a web development server assembly. This software is cross-platform, there are versions for Linux, Windows and Mac. Build includes Apache, PHP, MariaDB, phpMyAdmin

Installation
We set the rights

sudo chmod 755 xampp-linux-*-installer.run

Installation start

sudo ./xampp-linux-*-installer.run

Some instructions for work

Start, reboot and stop

sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start
sudo /opt/lampp/lampp restart
sudo /opt/lampp/lampp stop

Launch GUI

sudo /opt/lampp/manager-linux-x64.run

Remove XAMPP

sudo rm -rf /opt/lampp

PhpMyAdmin is located at http://localhost/phpmyadmin

To manage virtual hosts using the file /opt/lampp/etc/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf, you need to uncomment the line "#Include etc /extra/httpd-vhosts.conf" in the file /opt/lampp/etc/httpd.conf. Also in this file (httpd.conf), in the IfModule unixd_module section change User and Group to your user.

Make the owner of your user’s folder. For a normal session

sudo chown -R $USER:$USER /opt/lampp/temp/

For the folder /opt/lampp/temp/ set permissions 755

sudo chmod -R 755 /opt/lampp/temp/
